Hello, hello, hello
It has been quite some time since I’ve written a blog post. New year, new content schedule, however, and this year I intend to stick to it. 2018 was a wild ride and I am determined for 2019 to be just as wild, but to keep on top of it this time. It turns out, making 3 pieces of content to share every week was too much for me, so now it will be one piece of content each week and I will maintain my social media accounts every day. That is my promise to you all!
I can’t believe how fast the last nine months have flown. Spending so much time focusing on my writing and building my online presence has filled the past year with hard work and meeting amazing people and as a result the year has disappeared without notice. I am very grateful for every person I have met on this journey and for everything I have learnt; it has set me up for a fantastic 2019.
I want to spend this year focusing on building my business. I have written out a 12 month business plan with both activity and financial goals for the year. They’re simple and achievable as long as I stick to the steps I have determined are the best way to progress towards those. I intend to do this for every year. I think with an artistic/creative business such as being an author, creating a business plan covering 12 months at a time is probably the best way to approach things. I might even reassess this plan come July to make those 12 months in line with the financial year as opposed to the calendar year, we shall see.
My three goals outlined in my business plan:
- Publish 3 books (yes, THREE)
- Provide weekly content
- Reach my monthly earnings goal (inclusive of all my sources of income)
More personally, I hope to stick to my fortnightly budget I have drawn up for myself and work on decreasing my debt (isn’t being in your 20’s fun during this period of time?), stick to my gym and training schedules. And keep up with my studies.
So many things to do this year, but it is going to be a good year. I am determined to make it a good year. I realised a few years ago that good things don’t come to those who wait, they come to those who actually work their asses off for them. That is what I intend to do this year. I’m going to put in the work and keep working until the rewards come my way.
Keep your eyes peeled for my alternating blog posts and videos. I’m going to be doing a lot of book reviews this year, some in blogs and some in videos, as I read a lot of books last year that I didn’t review and I have a HUGE TBR this year. I will also be making posts and videos about writing.
If you haven’t, sign up for my newsletter (bottom of this page) to be the first people entered into my New Year Giveaway later this month and to be the first to hear a couple of big announcements.
Thanks for all the support last year and I hope to meet even more people and provide plenty of content over the coming year!
Until next time!
